Global & NRI
Global equities in US dollars, through GIFT City
Funds domiciled in GIFT City’s International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) let resident Indians invest in global markets in US dollars. They are regulated by IFSCA, and residents invest under RBI’s Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS).
Because they sit outside the industry-wide limits on overseas investment that apply to domestic mutual funds, they can be a way to add international diversification and dollar exposure.
Who it suits
- Resident Indians wanting global diversification
- Families with future dollar expenses, such as education abroad
